**LEGAL**

# **Accessibility**

**Accessibility statement for the ESG Bielefeld website — commitment, standard and feedback route.**

**Accessibility is not a technical footnote for us but part of the welcome: this website should be usable by everyone — regardless of impairment, age, device or assistive technology.**

## Scope

**This statement applies to the website of the ESG Bielefeld. It does not cover our buildings, events or printed material — for questions beyond this website, reach us via the **[**contact page**](https://esg-bielefeld.de/en/contact)**.**

## Our commitment

**The ESG Bielefeld wants to be an open meeting place for all — and that starts with its own website. We understand accessibility as an ongoing process, not a one-off project: pages and content keep growing, and at every step we check whether they remain usable with a keyboard, a screen reader, magnification or other assistive tools.**

## Our standard: WCAG 2.2 AA

**Our reference point is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), version 2.2, at conformance level AA — the internationally recognised benchmark for accessible web content. These criteria address the typical barriers of the web: sufficient contrast, keyboard operability, a visible focus, alternative text for images, understandable language and a clear structure.**

**WCAG 2.2 AA is our aspiration and benchmark — not a certificate that everything is done. The website does not yet meet all of the criteria; we are working on it step by step.**

## Feedback: Get in touch

**If you come across a barrier on this website — for example insufficient contrast, an element that cannot be operated with the keyboard, or a missing alternative text — write to us:**

**E-mail: [**esg@uni-bielefeld.de**](mailto:esg@uni-bielefeld.de)**

**It helps us if you mention: which page you found it on, what exactly did not work, and what you were using (for example a screen reader, a braille display or a smartphone). We will get back to you as soon as we can — usually within a few days. Prefer the phone? You can reach us at +49 521 / 881140.**

## Who is responsible for this website

**The operator of this website is the Evangelische Studierendengemeinde Bielefeld — Jakob-Kaiser-Str. 26, 33615 Bielefeld, **[**esg@uni-bielefeld.de**](mailto:esg@uni-bielefeld.de)**. Who legally represents the ESG and who is responsible for the content is stated in the **[**imprint**](https://esg-bielefeld.de/en/legal/impressum)**. For your accessibility feedback, the e-mail address above is usually enough.**
